- Pass the relevant health, safety, and environment test within the past two years. The validity of this test must be maintained until the application is received.
- Successfully complete the CPCS Renewal test corresponding to the categories you intend to renew. The validity of this test must be maintained until the application is received.
- Demonstrate ongoing practical operating experience through one of the following options:
- Logbook
- On-Site Assessment with a registered test center
- CPCS Practical test with a registered test center
- VQ* (if taken in the past 2 years)
- To initiate the renewal process, you need to complete the F1/3 application form. You can do this by either filling out the online renewal form or completing the application form and submitting it to the mailing address mentioned on the reverse side of the application form. If there is an associated fee, you will receive an online payment link. Please note that applications can be made up to 3 months prior to the expiry date.
- A Blue Competent Operator Card will be issued for a duration of five years from the last expiry date. You can find detailed instructions on how to renew in the Scheme Booklet for Operators.
- If your card has already expired, you have a grace period of up to 5 years to renew it, provided you meet the aforementioned criteria.
- If you are unable to meet the renewal requirements for a specific category, you have the option to Bank that category until you can fulfill the requirements. Please refer to the CPCS Scheme Booklet for Operators for more information. However, please note that at least one category must be renewed in order to bank others.
- If your card has exceeded the 5-year limit since its expiry, you will be required to re-enter the scheme by fulfilling the following requirements:
- Pass the relevant health, safety, and environment test.
- Pass the CPCS Theory Test for each category you hold.
- Pass the CPCS Practical Test for each category you hold.
- Hold the relevant VQ (if not held, a Trained Operator Card will be issued).
