SMSTS Refresher Course

The CITB SMSTS Refresher is for those students that currently hold an existing SMSTS certificate.

The certificate must still be in date and valid for students to undertake the SMSTS Refresher class.

This two-day SMSTS Refresher class provides the necessary updates for students on the legal health & safety responsibilities that affect construction sites today.

The CITB SMSTS Refresher certificate is valid for 5 years.

You must complete this refresher before your certificate expires or you will need to re-take the full course.

Evidence must be provided of your eligibility in order to book onto this course.

CITB recommend that this course is run over two consecutive days.

Delegates must be competent in English at site manager level.

Course Content

• Risk assessment and method statements
• Construction Site Health, Safety and Welfare
• Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR)
• Behavioural safety
• Occupational health
• Overview and changes to the current legislation affecting construction

The cost also includes publications, registration, certification, lunch, and refreshments.

Online SMSTS Refresher Course is approved by CITB.

CITB Grant

The CITB grants are available for companies who are registered for the Grant and Levy scheme. For the SMSTS Course, subject to CITB approval, you may be able to claim back £70.

The process for the grant is straightforward. The candidate must provide the Company Name, Registered address, and CITB Levy number. These details will be collected on the first day of the course on the delegate notification form.

Once received, CITB will then process the claim as per their procedure. SRP Training is not responsible for the actual claim, and as such, once the details have been provided, the company must contact CITB for any updates or queries.
